A couple of fantasy films and media have placed elements from mythology and folklore into a modern setting, and sometimes in a way that makes them more apart of the real world rather than separate. However, I don’t think the entertainment industry represents certain creatures and characters from mythology very accurately to their cultural source, and I take accuracy in my art very seriously. This is what inspired this project of mine that I am calling 'Modern Mythologies'. The long term goal for any artwork I make for this project to try and depict what the world would really be like if the creatures, characters, realms, and stories from world myths and folklore were real and continued to exist into the modern day. How I will use accuracy to interpret this setting will vary, but I will generally try to stay true to how the subjects are originally described in their cultural source and balance them out with how things in the real world work, only taking creative license when: There
